Treatment
The oldest and most measured form of Western massage.
Swedish massage is the foundation of much of the Western tradition. Long fluid strokes, modulated pressure, steady rhythm. It does not promise to release every knot or correct every posture — it promises something simpler, and rarer: time.
The hands work from the periphery toward the center, following venous return. Pressure rises and falls, never repeating itself. It is a massage that addresses the nervous system before the muscles — slowing the pulse, lengthening the breath, reminding the body that it is allowed to stop.
At Lume we offer it in its classic form: warm oil, sixty or ninety minutes, no shortcuts. It is the first treatment we recommend to those who don't know where to begin.
