Treatment
When the body has held onto something, and needs to be asked to let it go.
Deep tissue is not a relaxing massage made stronger. It is a different discipline. The work focuses on trigger points, adhesions, fascia — the thin tissue that wraps muscles and that, when stiffened, blocks movement and holds tension long after the cause is gone.
The pressure is deep but never blind. Every stroke seeks a release, never forces one. Myofascial work in particular uses slow, sustained stretches: it asks the tissue to reorganize, rather than compelling it.
This is the treatment to choose when pain is chronic, when an area "won't be touched", when stress has settled into the shoulders, the neck, the lower back. At Lume we work with little or no oil, so the hands can truly find the deeper plane.
