Polished, easy to book, expensive. The work itself is often capable but generic — a single protocol applied to anyone who walks in, with little time before or after. If convenience is the priority, they serve a purpose.

Chain wellness centers

Visible online, with many practitioners and many bookings per day. Quality varies enormously between staff. The session is often shorter than advertised once you subtract changing time. Worth it for low prices, less so for serious work.

A real studio

One practitioner, one room, one person at a time. The price is mid-range, the booking is by appointment only, the time on the table is the time you paid for. The work is chosen for the body in front of them, not pulled from a menu.

What to ask before booking

How long is the actual treatment, in minutes on the table? Who will perform it — the same person you spoke with, or someone else? Is there a specific tradition or technique they specialize in? If the answers are vague, keep looking.
